Photography is a very lucrative form of business that demands too much work and dedication. However, it is not just like taking Viagra. As a professional photographer who has been working for decades with all kinds of photographs usually knows an opportunity when they see one.
They capture the moment because they probably were at the right place and at the right time too. In some instance, they can be actually planned but usually, they are not. There are some which are just there, and all you have to do is to simply snap without necessarily thinking about the lighting or composition to improve the quality of the photo.
For instance, you can plan to take a photo of an athlete or a vehicle when it wants to cross the finish line. Or if you are expecting something stunning to happen, like during childbirth, you are there with your camera ready to capture every moment of the action. Such remarkable moments can actually be captured if first of all, you are ready, and also when you are very skill coupled with good equipment. At this moment, your training, experience, and education too matters.
Photography requires that you capture the magic of the moment that is going to probably live forever on a storage card or films. After you most have combined all the elements and stunning composition, this is, however, something that is neither planned nor arranged. Recently, I was having some quiet time with my girlfriend waiting for room service to come, just as we were discussing, from my balcony I saw some monkeys playing on the tree.
I quickly rush to my room to get my camera ready. There I found monkeys playing with friends, mothers with their babies. I wasn’t planned, but I did capture every moment of it. It just happened. In most instances, those experiences can be envisioned, that is why I always move alongside with my camera and other equipment. All this simply requires you to be at the right place at the right time.
You need to think ahead and always expect to encounter surprise that you can capture. So you need to be able to know the right angle to take the shots. Always expect the unpredictable, when you are a photographer.
Patience and dedication are very important in photography as they are the gateway to extraordinarily composed pictures, usually when you actually wait for that right moment to come. Also, anticipation is very vital as you definitely need to look at a situation and probably tell what is going to happen next and get your camera ready for the action.
